A Google Doodle is a special, temporary alteration of the logo on Google's homepages intended to commemorate holidays, events, achievements, and notable historical figures.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reported that the doodle went live on early Thursday morning, in commemoration of Amaka Igwe's contribution to Nollywood Industry.
Amaka Igwe who was recognized as one of second generation of filmmakers in Nigeria who helped in starting the video film era of Nigerian cinema. Amaka Igwe when alive, was a Nigerian filmmaker and broadcasting executive. She also owns the Radio 90.9 Lagos and Amaka Igwe Studios.
She was graded as a creative, talented, prolific and a business mogul. She became a top notch personality in the Nollywood industry and remained a prominent figure in the industry until her demise in 2014.

The prolific filmmaker came into the national highlight as she wrote and produced an award-wining TV soap "Checkmate" and its offshoot "Fuji House of Commotion".
Her projects in Nollywood industry includes Rattle snake and Violated. These productions set the Late filmmaker's studio apart in the Video film era of Nigerian cinema.
